I’m not convinced that the degree of grief felt at the loss of a parent or loved one is necessarily age contingent. Grief is so individualistic. Maturity certainly plays a role, for sure. My grief at 40 was certainly different than grief in my 20’s. Which was worse? I couldn’t begin to say. Who can say?
