Wow... I’d forgotten this one until I saw this and went OMG YES! Great song on a great album but the thing that grabbed me was the vocal track... this was back before pitch correction was on everything, and the vocal is amazing. Pitch, nuance, tone, expressiveness. Everything landed perfectly. (Who knows how many takes it took to get that, but the end result was a thing of beauty). Thanks!

Can't believe Boomtown is almost 40 yrs old! Jumped on this album when it first came out in '86 and it sounds as musically fresh today as it did then. There are very few albums that have that kind of sustain. Along with his superb and underappreciated Triage, Baerwald's music remains some of my favorite listening and I go back to it as much if not more than anything else in my collection.
Thank you thank you thank you! Boomtown remains one of my very favorites. Every song is an all-star.
Also, I think it's "handsome Cullen" instead of "handsome Kevin" in the lyrics you printed unless I've been hearing it wrong all these years!

It really is a great album that captures a certain kind of mood with all of the characters. I agree that his solo work is egregiously overlooked.
